Craven DEC has been inspiring and supporting teachers and young people since 1994 by providing training on all aspects of global citizenship and tailor made student workshops on global learning themes.
We work in partnership with other DECs and other organisations to provide opportunities and activities to encourage action for a fairer and more sustainable world and always endeavour to make connections between local actions and global sustainability issues, such as climate change, pollution and biodiversity.
We have a close relationship with schools and teachers in Craven and support them working towards award schemes, e.g. Fairtrade school awards, Eco-schools awards, a School of Sanctuary, the Green Tree Schools Award, SAPERE Philosophy for Children School awards, the Global Schools Award and the Global Teacher Award.
Our resource centre houses an extensive collection of books, activity packs, games and artefacts for loan.
